キンダーガーテン
キンダーガーテンは、多くのお子さまにとって家庭という慣れ親しんだ環境から社会へ踏み出す最初の場所です。
これはお子さまにとって大きな一歩です。
私たちは、その大きな変化を丁寧に見守りながら、子どもたちが安心して自分らしく成長できるよう、安全で楽しい空間の中で自信と自立心を育み、自分の限界に挑戦ができるような活動を提供しています。
さらに当園では、環境づくりにも力を入れています。３歳から担当するメインティーチャーは全員ネイティブスピーカーで、お子さまたちは自然と教師の英語を真似たり、英語でコミュニケーションを取る機会を得られます。また、「友だち同士でも英語だけで話す」ことをルールの一つにしており、First Stepsに入園した瞬間から“英語スイッチ”が入り、まるで英語圏に飛び込んだかのように自然と英語で話し始めます。素晴らしい先生たちとモンテッソーリの環境の力を借りて、子どもたちは楽しみながらすぐにFirst Stepsでの生活に馴染んでいきます。
当園には４つのクラスがあり、2歳から6歳までのお子さまをお預かりしております。
また、お子さまの発達状況によっては2歳未満のお子さまでもお預かりしております。基本的には年齢ごとにクラス分けをしていますが、成長や学びのペースに応じて先生たちの判断のもと、上のクラスに入って活動をする場合もあります。一人ひとりの可能性をしっかりと引き出せるよう、柔軟に対応しています。
モンテッソーリ教育では、3歳を過ぎると年齢ごとに分けることはせず、異年齢で同じ環境の中で過ごすのが一般的です。
当園でもその考えを大切にしつつ、英語を母国語としないお子さまが多く在籍しているため、初めて英語に触れるお子さまも多いため、子どもたちの発達段階に合った英語の時間も取り入れています。例えばサークルタイムではフラッシュカードを使って日常で使う英単語を楽しく学んだり、絵本の読み聞かせを行なうなど、西洋式幼児教育の要素を取り入れながらモンテッソーリと英語教育をバランスよく組み合わせた保育を行なっています。
通常の保育時間は月曜日から金曜日の9:30〜14:30ですが、延長保育（8:00〜17:00）もございます。
さらに延長が必要な場合は18:30まで対応しています。

モンテッソーリの活動＝お仕事
子どもたちは、日常生活の中で起こるどんな活動に対しても、まるで小さなプロジェクトに取り組んでいるかのように夢中で楽しみます。
マリア・モンテッソーリは、子どもたちがそうした活動に深く集中し、最後までやりきったときにとても満足そうな表情を見せることに気づきました。
そこで、モンテッソーリ教育では、子どもたちが整えられた環境の中で自発的に夢中になれる活動を「おしごと」と呼ぶようになりました。この言葉には、「楽しい学び」や「集中して取り組むこと」のポジティブな意味が自然と結びついています。こうした「おしごと」を何度も繰り返すことで、子どもたちは自分で集中して取り組む力を身につけ、最後までやり切る喜びと自信を育んでいきます。
モンテッソーリ英語
私たちの主な目標は、子どもたちが幼稚園を卒園するまでに、自信をもって「読むこと」と「書くこと」ができるようになることです。
教材にはモンテッソーリ教育の大切な5つの考え方を取り入れており、子どもたちはアルファベット一つひとつの音（フォニックス）を学びます。
やがて音をつなげて単語を読めるようになり、最終的には本を読む力へとつなげていきます。
モンテッソーリ算数
4歳頃になると、子どもたちは「秩序」や「正確さ」に対する敏感期に入ります。
この時期には、指示をしっかりと聞いたり、空間把握能力が高まったり、書くことや数を数えることに強い関心を持つようになります。これらはすべて「数学的な思考力」を育てるための大切な力です。当園では、優れた教材を活用しながら、ほとんどの子どもたちが足し算・引き算・かけ算・わり算という4つの基本的な計算ができるようになります。
モンテッソーリ感覚教育
モンテッソーリ教育では、「感覚教育」がとても大切な役割を果たしています。私たちが世界について知るためには、味覚、嗅覚、触覚、視覚、聴覚といった五感を使います。だからこそ、アドベンチャラーズクラス（3歳から4歳の子供たち）では、「感覚」の学びを大切にしています。
この時期の子どもたちは、いろいろなものを無差別に発見する段階を超え、自分の感覚を磨き、周りの環境や世界についてもっと深く理解しようとする準備ができています。感覚を訓練し、鋭くすることで、より豊かな学びを広げていきます。
サークルタイム
世界中の多くのキンダーガーテンと同じように、私たちにも「サークルタイム」と呼ばれる交流やディスカッションなどの活動の時間があります。
話題はクラスごとに異なりますが、子供たちの好奇心を満たすことを常に心がけています！サークルタイム中に先生や友達との自然な交流を通じて、子供たちはコミュニケーション能力を育み、英語の語彙を増やしていきます。
FUN FRIDAY（金曜日お楽しみ会）
私たちはよく学び、よく遊びます！毎日一生懸命に学ぶ子どもたちにご褒美として、週に一回のお楽しみ会があります。
ゲームをしたり、アートや工作、実験などを行っています。
Our Kindergarten
For many children, this may be their first step into society outside their familiar environment, which is a huge leap for everyone. We ensure that this transition is made easier through diligent assessment and by providing them with exciting challenges and activities to help them build confidence and independence in a space they feel safe and happy to grow. Furthermore, what makes our Kindergarten stand out is that we strive to maintain an environment as close to an English speaking country. Our main teachers are from 3 years old and above are all native English speakers, which gives our students the opportunity to imitate the way our teachers speak and communicate in their native tongue. Through understanding one of our most important rules of only communicating in English even among their friends, once the students enter First Steps, they flip their “English switch” and warp to an English speaking country. With the help of our amazing teachers and the Montessori environment, our students quickly learn to adopt and look forward to coming here with a feeling of excitement.
We have four groups in our Kindergarten accommodating children from 2 years old to 6 years old. Depending on the child’s personal development, we also accommodate children younger than 2 years old. The groups are generally divided into age groups, however, with the assessment of our teachers, some students may join a class with students older than them to ensure their education and developmental needs are met to their full potential.
In a typical Montessori school, students are not divided into groups by their age after 3 years old and spend time in the same prepared environment. We are, however, also an English school, where many of our students are non-native and are exposed to the English language for the first time when they enter our Kindergarten. To place them in a Montessori-English speaking environment, it is important for us to factor in some time to teach the language appropriate for their developmental stage. For example, we incorporate some western-style Kindergarten activities such as Circle time where we use flashcards to learn vocabulary used on a day to day basis, engage in discussions and have story time.
Our Kindergarten hours are Monday to Friday 9:30 to 14:30 in general. We also provide extended daycare from 8:00 to 17:00 and there are also options to stay until 18:30.
Kindergarten Schedule
Montessori studies = Work
Children naturally delight themselves in engaging in activities in their daily lives as if they are working on a project. Maria Montessori observed the intense focus from the children during these activities along with the satisfaction they show upon completion. This is the origin of the term “work” in relation to children engaging in enjoyable tasks and learn to obtain a positive association with the term in a prepared environment. Through repeating this process of “work”, children learn to focus and engage in any activities independently and nurture confidence.
Montessori English
Our main goal is to learn how to read and write with confidence by the time they graduate Kindergarten. Our learning materials adopt the 5 most important ideas of Montessori, therefore, our students memorise the sound of each alphabet, known as phonics. They will eventually learn to connect the sounds in order to read a word and finally progress to reading books.
Montessori Math
Starting around 4 years of age, the child enters “sensitive periods” for order and precision. At this age, the child takes greater interest in following instructions, spatial awareness, writing and counting, which are all qualities obtained to develop a mathematical mind. With the help of our incredible materials, most of our students are able to solve math equations using the four basic mathematical operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Montessori Sensorial
The sensorial curriculum holds a significant place in Montessori methodology. Senses are the means by which people collect information about the world through their bodies, including taste, smell, touch, sight and hearing. This is why the Adventurers (age 3 to 4) have Sensorial as a subject. As the child moves beyond the stage of indiscriminate discovery the child at this age will be ready to train and polish their senses to broaden their understanding of their environment and the world.
Circle Time
Just like many Kindergartens around the world, we have a time to have mingle time and guided discussions/ activities for the older children called “Circle Time”. The topic of discussion depends on each class, but we always make sure to feed their curious minds! Through natural interaction with their teachers and friends during Circle Time, students develop their communication skills and increase their English vocabulary.
Fun Friday
We work hard and play hard! As a reward for all the hard work our students put into during the week, we have a day of fun, whether it’d be playing games together, arts and craft time or conducting experiments!
